Tom Swift and His Electric Runabout; Or, The Speediest Car on the Road

In Tom Swift and His Electric Runabout, Tom sets his sights on a prize offered by the Touring Club of America: three thousand dollars for the fastest electric car. There's a twist - it's a 24-hour endurance race, not just a speed test. This is a challenge Tom relishes, especially because it gives him a chance to outdo his rival, the boastful Andy Foger.

Tom doesn't just pull a random car out of the garage. He decides to build a brand new electric runabout from scratch. This isn't your typical electric car either. Tom designs his with an eye for both speed and endurance, aiming for a top speed of 100 mph and a range of 400 miles on a single charge!

But building the perfect electric race car isn't the only hurdle Tom faces. Just as he's putting the finishing touches on his creation, he stumbles upon a nefarious plot. A group of criminals are planning a bank run that could financially ruin not only Tom's family but the entire town.

Now Tom has a double challenge: win the race and stop the bank robbers. The story follows Tom's race against time as he uses his scientific ingenuity and courage to overcome both obstacles and emerge victorious.
